How to Make a Chocolate Bar Card
I know. I know. What is a resiliency author and speaker doing posting a blog/article on making a chocolate bar card? Here is my rational. By making this unusual item you will:
- have fun.
- stimulate your creative juices.
- trigger your pleasure signals by nibbling on a bar or two.
- give recognition to another, hence boosting their resilience.
- experience the positive and rewarding feeling of gifting.
You can create this tasty giant greeting care for any occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, Valentine’s Day or Father’s Day. I was in Smoky Lake, Alberta, to keynote a women’s event. A dear woman called Doris Slemko billeted me in her home. Before we went to bed she proudly showed me an oversized birthday card. It had chocolate bars spelling out keywords of appreciation to her. I loved the idea and made one for my hubby.
How to Create a Chocolate Bar Birthday Card
Creating a chocolate bar birthday card can be a delightful and creative way to celebrate someone’s special day. Here are some fun ideas to make the process enjoyable:
Materials Gathering: Start by gathering colorful papers, markers, glue, scissors, and of course, a chocolate bar. Choose a variety of colored papers to represent different elements of the card.
Card Base: Use a sturdy piece of cardstock or construction paper as the base for your card. This will provide a solid foundation for your creation.
Chocolate Bar Design: Select a chocolate bar that has a colorful wrapper or personalize it by creating a custom wrapper. Draw or print a design that fits the birthday theme.
Personalized Messages: Write personalized birthday messages on the chocolate bar wrapper or on the inside of the card. Be creative and add funny or sentimental messages.
Cut and Assemble: Cut out the chocolate bar wrapper and other decorative elements from the colored papers. Assemble the card by gluing the wrapper onto the card base. Ensure it resembles a real chocolate bar.
3D Elements: Add 3D elements to make the card more interesting. You can use foam stickers, buttons, or even small decorative items related to the birthday theme.
Use Real Chocolate: Attach a small, real chocolate bar to the card. This adds an extra element of surprise, and the recipient gets to enjoy a treat along with their card.
Interactive Elements: Make the card interactive by incorporating elements like pop-ups or flaps. For example, you could have a flap that reveals a hidden message or a pop-up element that adds a wow factor.
Incorporate Photos: Include pictures of memorable moments with the birthday person. This personal touch adds sentimental value to the card.
Envelope Design: Decorate the envelope to match the theme of the card. This sets the tone for the celebration right from the moment the recipient receives it.
Get Creative with Colors: Use a vibrant color palette to make the card visually appealing. Bold and bright colors can make the card feel festive and cheerful.
Include Humor: Add a touch of humor to the card by incorporating funny quotes, jokes, or puns related to chocolate and birthdays.
My Simple Example:
Here is the personalized message I sent my sweetie:
“Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Les Morgan SKORs on his birthday. Patsy said he is WUNDERBAR and she’s so glad he has no Chicklets on the side. Finally, she said, ‘No wonder he SKORs!’
His amazing SUPERPAK is ready for his next outdoor adventure. He and his Sidekicks will excel. Ben, Katie and he will be like the 3 Muskateers with no put downs or SNICKERS. He will lead them safely home following the AERO on his compass.
Never to Glossette over his need for Balance, he doesn’t pretend to be mr. big. Here’s a man who could EAT-MORE, but avoids becoming crunchie.
Be Twix canoeing or going to Mars we all know which one he would choose. Butterfingers down this Kit-Kat loves the outdoors.
S’mores news to come!”
Over a month’s duration, every so often Les would cut through one chocolate bar, yes just one at a time, for an evening treat. Disciplined or what?
Thanks to Doris for passing on this sweet, treat concept of a chocolate bar card!
